Article for Publication

Lenzie.org.uk is happy to accept articles for publication (subject to conditions below) and will normally publish suitable material.

  1. Please supply: (preferably by email which you can obtain by contacting us)
    1. A covering note confirming it is your own original work (from a parent or guardian in the case of a juvenile).
    2. A copy of the text – please check spelling.
    3. Copies of images with a brief description such as "Lenzie Gala Parade". These must be your own pictures/artwork or you must confirm that the owner has given permission to allow us to publish them.
      It is particularly important that these are not simply copied from the web.
    4. Please tell us the name to give for the author(s). (We recommend only using first names for children).
    5. If you wish us to include contact details you must clearly tell us which contact details to publish. Remember email addresses published on the internet will get SPAM.
  2. Guidelines
    1. Subject: Articles are welcomed on any subject, but preference will be given to articles about l ocal information, events, issues or organisation or to literary work (poems, stories) by local authors.
    2. Article length - is not as important as quality. A child's article may need only 30 words, whereas a more lengthy topic may need over 1000 words.
    3. Images: We prefer to have full size copies of images as weel as images at publication size. This is because it allows us to slightly alter the size without a severe fuzziness on the picture. We prefer images in a .png, .jpg, .bmp or .gif file format, contact us for other formats such as videos.
    4. Font styles: we normally apply our own style which is: "Arial, Helvetica or sans–serif".
  3. Terms & conditions(legal stuff)
    1. Permission to publishBy submitting articles, you the author(s) grant to us (the publishers of Lenzie.org.uk) permission:
      1. to publish: You grant us a perpetual license to publish the work on lenzie.org.uk & any associated web site or publication in the style & format we deem appropriate. This license may be revoked by you upon notification that the published work contains substantial specified errors as of the date of the original submission;
      2. to remove from publication: We may remove the article at any time without notice;
      3. to make editorial changes: We may make editorial changes: to shorten; to add material including images or links, and to make changes to improve readability. (Our aim, however, is to agree substantial changes and make any reasonable changes after publication.)
    2. Your responsibilities
      In submitting the article you accept any liability for any costs or expenses where:
      1. text, images or other work supplied is not original material for which you own the copyright;
      2. there is any inaccuracy and specifically any defamatory statement about any individual, company or organisation.
